EARTH WIND AND FIRE

Earth, Wind & Fire is an American funk band, formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1969. Led by Maurice White, they are best known for their hits of the 1970s, among them "After the Love Has Gone", "September," "Reasons," "Fantasy" and "Shining Star."

"September" was written by Maurice White, Al McKay, and Allee Willis. It was released as a single in 1978. Featured on the band's album The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1, "September" reached number one on the US R&B chart, number eight on the Billboard Hot 100,[1] and number three on the UK singles chart.

The lyrics begin:

Do you remember, the 21st night of September
Love was changing the minds
Pretender, while chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
In the key that our souls were singing
As we danced in the night,
Remember how the stars stole the night away
Ba de ya - say do you remember
Ba de ya - dancing in September
Ba de ya- never was a cloudy day
