How to Use Alpha PMX
Alpha PMX is an elemental nutrient formula that supplies a complete set of nutrients needed for nutrient supplementation, sports, fitness and performance nutrition. Alpha PMX comes in powder form to be added to fruit and vegetables juices, rice milks, soya milk or soups. PMX offers a complete set of essential and non-essential free-form amino acids and a complete set of vitamins and minerals with extra antioxidants. The nutrient values of Alpha PMX are listed on the label as nutrients available per 100 grams of the formula. Before fat is added, PMX powder will supply carbohydrate 88% of the calories and amino acids (protein) 12%. There is a complete set of essential and non-essential free-form amino acids, vitamins and minerals with extra amounts of antioxidants.
Meal Replacement Serving sizes and Frequency: For complete nutrition, start with 50-gram servings every two hours or 3 to 6 times a day and increase until caloric needs are met. 50 grams is about 1/3 to ½ cup of formula.* The Best Way to Mix Alpha PMX with wate. If your food tolerance permits mix frozen fruit or vegetable or juices in a blender to make pleasant drinks. We use frozen fruits + PMX + Water in a NutriBullet blender that quickly mixes the powder with the water and frozen fruit. You can also mix Alpha PMX by shaking the formula with juice in a closed container. Depending on your food tolerances, rice milk, Soya milk and yogurt may be added to the PMX mix and blended.
If you are using PMX as a complete meal replacement formula, you need to add vegetable oil to supply essential fatty acids. A combination of extra virgin olive oil and Canola oil in equal proportions is recommended. Also add omega 3 fish oil (salmon or a blend of fish oils) to provide EPA + DHA daily intake of at least 300 mg.
Fat intake can be increased to about 30% of daily caloric intake. Estimate vegetable oil requirement as 9 calories per gram of oil. For example start with 100 grams of PMX (360 calories) and add 15 Grams of oil (140 calories) to supply a total of 500 calories. See Tube Feeding
Training and Exercise
Nutrient needs vary with the type of exertion, intensity, duration, and your body size. Start with one gram of the formula per kilogram of body weight 20 minutes before a typical workout. A recharge serving of the same dose should follow within 60 minutes of the workout. Use the formula for training to adjust dose and get used to the effects before you use the formula for performance events. Adjust the dose as you gain experience with the formula. The dose range is from 1 gram per kilogram body weight for routine workouts to 3 grams per kilogram for heavy or sustained exertions. The formula is mixed with fruit or vegetable juices in a blender.
If you are sustaining exertion beyond 60 minutes, recharge servings can be consumed every 60 to 90 minutes - start with a 50 gram dose and adjust upwards to achieve the best sustaining energy. Extra water is required before, during, and after vigorous exertions. (50 grams is 1/3 to 1/2 cup of formula which mixes with 10 ounces or more of liquid. )
Mixing Alpha PMX
Alpha PMX is best mixed in a blender. PMX is a mixture of over 40 ingredients, most are powders with different solubility in water. Mixing in warm to hot water (less than 50 degrees C.) increases solubility. Some ingredients are not soluble but will suspend in water when mixed in blender. These ingredients will settle if the formula is mixed and left to sit. They can be re-suspended by stirring, shaking or by a quick remix in the blender (e.g.10 seconds).
PMX measurement instructions are based on gram weight. Conversions from weight to volume are approximate. For example, a 50 gram serving of Alpha ENF or Alpha PMX is somewhere between 1/3 cup and 1/2 cup. Use a kitchen measuring scoop to approximate the serving size and adjust according to your nutrition needs.
